Set upon the Village Green at Tile house Lane, Great Horkesley, (as shown in the aerial photo above) is the New Village Hall: new in the sense that it built was built in recent years, and new in the décor, and the fixtures and fittings on offer. Surrounded on three sides by acres of parkland, a more idyllic landscaped setting would be hard to find.

The main room known as the John Appleby Hall is light, airy, and spacious. Suitable for most types of functions it can comfortably accommodate 100 people seated at tables, and 200 people in theatre style. Weather permitting; the John Appleby Hall opens onto a large patio suitable for a drinks reception or a breakout from the main function. This patio overlooks a children’s play area and with views of the Village Green.  Views below show the John Appleby Room (Main Room) empty and being used for a talk.

A smaller room, The Braeburn Room is a comfortable venue for meetings of up to 10 people seated boardroom-style, and 12 seated lecture-style.

A kitchen serves both rooms and there is a hatch opening onto the John Appleby Hall for easy transfer of refreshments and food to the table. White goods include tea and coffee making equipment, a fridge freezer and cooker. Crockery and cutlery are available if required.

The building is wired for broadband and this is available to hirers on request. It also is wired with audio and visual equipment!

The building is energy efficient and satisfies the greenest of the green, in an equally green and landscaped environment. Access is easy and level with a nearby drop off point for wheelchair users. Noise limiting devices, a travel plan, and conditions of hire, make this village hall a good neighbour to nearby residents.

The venue is ideal for small to medium sized weddings as can be seen from the pictured layouts below:
